Spend is the amount of money spent purchasing a component or group of components. When a customer buys products they have choices of which supplier M manufacture or component they could buy. When there are equivalent alternatives, they could by some product from one and some from another or buy both alternatives in some ratio like half from product A from manufacturer M1 and half from product B from manufacturer M2.
